Inspiration
We are dreaming of a paperfree, most sustainable transportation process. Data enables optimization, the more if it is shared beyond the limites of the current silos. This is often not the case for the security status data, which is not even shared digitally at all. Thus the SecurityNG app is providing an easy, clean and efficient integration of the security provider into the digital ONE Record ecosystem.
What it does
Within the app, you can easily perform the data management of the security process. The basic security provider data is pre-filled connected with the login. By scanning pieces and grouping them, you can set the updated security status. Using ONE Record as backend, all stakeholders get real-time updates on the status of the shipment. This information will lead to improved transparency and efficiency and thus lowered ressource use.
How we built it
The solutions was built using Open Source cross plattform mobile development framework "Flutter". The backend was developed based on Go programming language. The deployment was performed using Google Cloud. The most current draft of the ONE Record data model and API specification were used.
Challenges we ran into
In Golang there is no proper JSON-LD parser, so we build a custom one. Video cutting is always a challenge in the short time ;-) And it´s not easy not to get distracted by the wonderful city of Amsterdam!
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We developed a functional ONE Record server from scratch. The outcome of the Hackathon is Open Source - everybody can use, develop or integrate the code into his own products or infrastructure. Here´s the link, feel free to use it! https://github.com/chi-deutschland/secure_shipment
What we learned
Once the ONE Record server is implemented, it is very easy to produce apps/application/portals based on the data exchange enabled by ONE Record. With high-quality, extended data sharing, digital solutions improve significantly.
What's next for SecurityNG by the Frankfurt Team
We are looking forward to participating in the next hackathon. Meanwhile together we´ll drive ONE Record adoption in the Digitales Testfeld Air Cargo. Also there will be a lot of Open Source outcomes, so let´s join forces and collaborate!
