Security enhancing Discord bot using hashconnect for auth

Inspiration

  • although having only recently been initialized to the world of Blockchain technologies, we promptly found this subject as being possibly one of the most intriguing and promising one of the actual informational global scene. We sustain the concept of a world based on transparent and decentralized transactions, valuing it as being not only secure but also efficient and energy-friendly. In order to contribute to this revolutionary, but nonetheless practical movement we decided to build a security-enhancing Discord bot that uses Hashconnect and groundbreaking Hedera Strato JS for the identification process. We are looking at the future of a secure and free, decentralized world with enthusiasm and motivation, thus being inspired to contribute to its development.

What it does

  • it manages a target server to verify and authorize its users to specific channels depending on what role has been assigned to them. In other words, a verified or authorized role has its own access features to private channels, public ones being available for those with no such roles at all.

How we built it

  • firstly, we started by researching and understanding the hot topics that are currently on demand in the use case scenario of what we thought to be suitable for our project, and by doing so, beginning then to familiarize ourselves with such concepts as the main foundation.
  • secondly, we jumped to the actual development process in a try-and-fail manner to succeed.

What's next for Security enhancing Discord bot using hashconnect for auth

  • continue developing the next features which have not been implemented yet, using Hashconnect & Hedera Strato JS for identification via a wallet, from which the user can identify itself as a real individual, and not a pre-programmed AI that is trying to get access to a target server with malicious intents, especially on private channels with sensitive information at stake.
