Inspiration

We wanted to use facial recognition APIs to create a innovative and secure platform to make pick ups easy and worry free for people.

What it does

It allows parents or users to upload a picture and authorize or block a user to pick up their children. When someone tries to pick up the student, the school can log in and take a picture of the person which it will then compare to the authorized users and either allow or disallow the person from picking up the student.

How we built it

We built it using material design, html, css, javascript, jquery and a whole lot of Google.

Challenges we ran into

Integrating the APIs into our pages. The designs on the pages didn't always behave.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We finished it. It looks pretty. It is a very useful idea that is both broad and specific at the same time.

What we learned

MDL, APIs, more JavaScript and JQuery.

What's next for SecureMe

We want to scale SecureMe for pickups from Amazon and other large retailers to allow other people to authorize others to pick up packages for them.
