Inspiration

Everyday, crime happens everywhere in the world. We wanted to help put a stop to this by creating a web application to lower crime rates.

What it does

Users can submit a tip to any crime they witness. This information is then sent to authorized people, such as law enforcement officers to handle the crime cases.

How we built it

We built the web application with python websockets to and mongodb to handle the backend, and HTML, CSS and Javascript for the front end.

Challenges we ran into

A couple challenges we ran into include figuring out how to make sure a login system is secure and safe, and creating a visually appealing yet easy to read dashboard.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We are proud that we were able to come up with an elegent solution to our problem in 2 weeks time.

What we learned

Through this project we learned new ways to fully utilize HTML and CSS, including adding new elements and exploring their properties, and discovering creative ways to output our logic using in the UI.
