Secure Fuel

Inspiration

The idea for Secure Fuel started with a simple question: “Am I really getting the right amount of fuel at the pump?” Many of us have heard stories about inaccurate meters, density changes, and small scams that add up over time. I wanted to create something that could help people feel confident and informed every time they refuel their vehicles.

That’s when I thought why not build a small tool that uses technology to bring honesty and clarity into the process? And that’s how Secure Fuel was born.

What it does

Secure Fuel is a small but powerful app built on Base44. It helps users verify fuel quantity and cost instantly.

Users can:

  • Choose petrol or diesel
  • Enter how many litres they filled
  • Instantly get the exact cost
  • Check the mass using standard density
  • Generate a quick report for personal reference

It’s designed to give users peace of mind and help prevent common fueling mistakes or scams.

How we built it

I built Secure Fuel step by step inside Base44, using its visual builder and logic tools.

First, I designed the screens clean, simple, and easy to understand. Then I created the states for fuel type, price, density, and volume. Using Base44’s logic blocks, I connected everything so the calculations happen automatically whenever the user enters a value.

I built Secure Fuel step by step inside Base44, using its visual builder and logic tools.

Designed simple, clear screens for input and output

Created states for fuel type, price, density, volume, and amount

Connected logic blocks to calculate:

Volume = Amount Paid/Price per Liter

Mass = volume x Density

Added a neat report page so users can see their fuel breakdown at a glance

Tested and polished interactions to make it smooth and user-friendly

The app automatically calculates and shows the volume and density when a user enters an amount—they don’t have to do any mental math.

Challenges we ran into

Like every project, this one had its tricky parts:

  • Getting the logic blocks to run in the right order
  • Ensuring the calculations remained accurate
  • Fixing layout issues in Base44’s UI builder
  • Making the app clean and user-friendly
  • Getting the report feature to show all values correctly

But each challenge helped me understand the platform better and improve the overall experience.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Some wins I’m really proud of:

  • Turning a real-life problem into a working solution
  • Building the entire app in Base44, including the logic and UI
  • Making the interface clean and simple for anyone to use
  • Implementing real calculations based on fuel density and pricing
  • Seeing the app work smoothly from start to finish

It felt great to see an idea take shape and become something that can actually help people.

What we learned

Through Secure Fuel, I learned a lot about:

  • Building complete workflows inside Base44
  • How to manage states, logic, and UI together
  • Real fuel properties like density and how it affects cost
  • Structuring clean and readable interfaces
  • Approaching real-world problems from a technical perspective

This project helped me grow both technically and logically.

What's next for Secure Fuel

There’s so much I want to add next:

  • Scan fuel pump screens using OCR
  • Show nearby fuel stations using GPS
  • Generate fuel history and analytics
  • A premium verification feature
  • Community-based station ratings
  • Maybe turn it into a full mobile app someday

The goal is to make Secure Fuel a complete transparency tool for everyday fueling.
