Sector Dome

Track

We selected the second track, “depth” as a point of focus. Using 2 main interpretations of the word “depth”, being depth of knowledge on the different job sectors, as well as depth of intensity regarding how much competition users may face in a specific sector.

Inspiration

A lot of people have engaged fully in a specific career path. However, due to countless reasons, they end up regretting the path that they’ve chosen. This is mainly due to the lack of research and knowledge on a specific path.

Tools

We use the Replit in order to collaborate better, as well as Python in order to code the project itself. A module that we used was the “time” module.

Challenges

We faced multiple challenges during the making of the project. One of them being that we took quite some time brainstorming and finally coming up with a feasible and impactful idea. Furthermore, we had some difficulties in looking for data as the data wasn’t readily available in a single place/website.

Learning Points

We learnt how to research more thoroughly and concisely. Especially since (as said before) the datasets we needed were scattered around the internet and not in one address. Furthermore, we learned how to properly manage our time during this competition, allowing us to not only finish our project , but also be able to get enough sleep and rest. Lastly, we learnt how to proofread algorithms and errors, as well as the real-life impactful uses of coding and computer science.
