Inspiration

We strive for happiness and so should you!! We wanted to research something that is applicable to all, so we decided to study happiness and find out why some places are considered happier than others.

What it does

  • Analyze variables that may be related to the happiness scores of countries.
  • Discover the happiness trends of specific countries and understand which factors contribute to happiness.

How we built it

We built it using seaborn scatterplots and matplotlib maps in python.

Challenges we ran into

  • Unforeseen errors
  • (Accidentally deleted our code twice. that was bad)

Accomplishments that we're proud of

  • Learned how to use a new library.
  • Created data that has a useful social impact.
  • Learned some facts about happiness that can be applicable to our own lives.

What we learned

  • Having high GDP and good Social Welfare Programs increases a country's happiness, while Suicide rates and Immigration rates have no correlation with happiness scores.
  • More dopamine (happiness) = longer life expectancy

What's next for Secrets of Happiness: World Edition :)

  • Explore more factors by gathering more data sets.
  • Use machine learning to predict future happiness scores

Built With

  • matplotlib
  • python
  • seaborn
  • statsmodel
