Inspiration
The inspiration behind this project was largely in fact due to our room reservation process at our school. It was also largely inspired by defense companies who require high data security. By combining these two ideas the goal was to solve the issues provided by these two environments
What it does
This project allows companies who rent their office space to provide secure room rentals to their employees for meetings. The project allows employees who have a required clearance to rent out the room from building administration without forfeiting the employee's data to the building who may not have the same security clearance or contracts as the companies. This will allow the building administration to look at current scheduling without the ability to view the employee's data including name account information etc.
How we built it
We approached creating this project by splitting into 4 distinct teams each person responsible for the implementation of one concept. These concepts include Front End, (Back End and Data Base), Ledgers, Contracts. This allowed us to each focus on one segment of the project. once we completed the frontend, we began to implement the data base and the actual application of the contracts and ledgers.
Challenges we ran into
The main challenge our team ran into was understanding the docs for contracts, ledgers, and the implementation of lace wallet. We struggled with this as we are new to hackathons and encountering a new language for contracts was a departure from our traditional practices.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We are proud to have submitted something despite not having full functionality. It was also a great experience as our first hackathon as we were able to work together and get our name on the board.
What we learned
We learned a lot about how to work as a team and even though we struggled we began to understand troubleshooting as a team and how to reference the docs.
What's next for Secret Scheduler Pro
Some of our goals is to finish the actual prototype in order to prove that this might be a viable concept and to improve our understanding of midnight and compact.
