Inspiration
Secret Santa is a common activity in certain companies during the festive season. What if we could apply this to an entire community, with people with diverse needs, to bring the festive cheer to every member of society?
What it does
You can create a profile with your requested gift and the price of gift. Based on the price requested, the website calculates how much you must give to others. On 18 December, everyone's Secret Santa gets finalized, and people can buy each other gifts.
How we built it
We used SvelteKit with TailwindCSS as the frontend and Supabase as the backend.
Challenges we ran into
It was slightly difficult to create an app that is different before and after 18 December. Also, collaborating was not easy as Git did not allow us to work at the same time.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We are proud of creating an amazing-looking prototype, and implementing our authentication and database properly.
What we learned
We learned that a prototype is all about rapid iteration, so apps don’t have to be fully polished. It is also a good idea to use tools to help speed up the process like Supabase.
