Inspiration

The purpose of SeatNow is to reduce the amount of time spent waiting in line at events. Event goers will now be able to spend more time in their seats and less time in long pesky bathroom lines. Current and future customers of SeatGeek will use SeatNow.

What it does

There is not another ticket purchasing interface with the capability to give users the best possible ticket purchasing experience and then continue the experience at the venue. SeatNow uses real-time user-generated data to reduce the wait time in food and beverage, bathroom, and merchandise lines. It provides user comments and reviews on quality, cleanliness, and out of stock merchandise. Customer imported data is deleted from the venue’s interface following every event.

SeatNow is currently a separate app from SeatGeek. Users login to SeatNow using their SeatGeek account information. Users are directed to a “Select your event!” page with a drop down menu listing tickets they have currently purchased through SeatGeek. After selecting an event, the user is directed to a search and map screen. The user can then search for “food and beverage,” “bathrooms,” or “merchandise.” After making a selection, the user is directed to a detailed information page similar to a Yelp screen. From this screen a user can view the hours, location, customer uploaded photos, and chat conversation of their selection. This is also where customers can leave their own comments.

How I built it

Very slowly with Swift.

Challenges I ran into

Time goes by really quickly.

Accomplishments that I'm proud of

We did not give up. Maybe for a few minutes. And thought about it a lot. A lot. But we didn't give up :)

What I learned

Making anything of value is really difficult in short amounts of time. Really. Difficult.

What's next for SeatNow

Ideally, SeatNow will become a tab within the SeatGeek app. This will encourage users to continue using the SeatGeek app while they are at an event instead of only while searching for events or purchasing tickets.
