Inspiration

Submission to 2017 LA Recyclathon

What it does

Uses LA Sanitation's Open Data to track source of contaminants in the recycling stream to their source, and educate the public on how to prevent contamination.

How we built it

• Conversion of open data into raw format that our AI can automatically process.
• Construction of web platform in Javascript, HTML, CSS

Challenges we ran into

• Building AI platform to automatically generate visuals from data and push alerts to educate key areas

Accomplishments that we're proud of

• Working demo of the platform in only six hours!

What we learned

• Everything takes longer than we think it will

What's next for Seasonal.gov

• Full AI integration with IoT and Live Data
• Partnership with suppliers and manufacturers for live data on when possible contaminants enter the system
