Inspiration

We both love baseball and analytics and wanted to build something combining the two.

What it does

It uses a yaml-like language to let non-technical users describe the exact parameters and input data to get back clear probabilities of different outcomes based on a given pitch sequence.

How we built it

We used typescript primarily with an html frontend.

Challenges we ran into

Deciding what is important for a target user was difficult since many different people could want to use the product. We ultimately decided to let a technical backend team power the app by pulling from their data warehouse and pulling in their ML models so that the end user only had to input parameters and not think about what was going on under the hood.
