Idea that Inspired me was Shipping Industry, I was working on Ships before starting my career in Innovation and researches. While working on ship we use to store fresh water for crew and ship essentials but for not so important things we used sea water example, Seawater is used for cooling, oil field water injection and firefighting systems in ship building, offshore oil and gas platforms, power plants and for industrial facilities along the coastline and also things like washing ship and boilers. I learned that water is very essential for life and in which most important is fresh water as it is basic need of human being on planet Earth and on Ship we wisely used it,So I thought to start working on numbers and see How much water is there on earth and can it last for future generation.As fresh water is not something like Oil, that we exhaust it and find alternative , fresh water is basic need of life like Oxygen, food and excretion, if we do not have these things we cant survive and according to me survival is most important then only there is meaning of development and thinking about evolution in future. I have developed a idea to harvest sea water in cities starting from coastal cities, laying down pipe lines using generators to inject water in pipe with non return valve .Now just like fresh water supply chain there will be sea water supply chain too in world. Mathematics: Given – Average Number of people in Family = 4 Average Amount of water person drink = 3.5 Liters Average Amount of water used by Individual = 350 Liters Therefore, Average amount of water used in drinking in a family = 14 Liters Average amount of water consumed in a family = 1400 Liters SO if we see we use 1386 Liters of water for other purpose and you won’t be surprised to know that the largest use of household water is to flush the toilet and other not so important stuff which are not so necessary for survival. So I learnt that we together should start working on saving fresh water,the a question arise in my mind, Why will people start using less fresh water? We do care for future but what we need is alternative. Like we are switching from Oil to electric in transport and in near future this will take place, like we are using phone calls instead of writing letter. Just a alternative and awareness and human will be ready to save fresh water for future generation. Challenges I faced were I don’t have enough money to implement this idea for prototype and a platform to raise awareness. Other problem which may arise in prototyping in city is Rusting but these can be solved. The main problem is fresh water limitation and there are many areas of livelihood where we can use sea water instead of fresh water and as we all know there is abundance of sea water and it is rising too due to global warming So what’s wrong in using something extra over what is already getting lesser.
