Inspiration

When we found out that the Intrepid was home to countless soldiers who lost their lives or made it home to tell their tale, it became imperative that we honor those who have fought for us. Despite these men risking their lives for their country, as time moves forward these men and their stories will be forgotten. It is our job to prevent that from being the case.

What it does

It provides an extensive history on the significant battles across the air and sea with the addition of feats in space.

How I built it

As a team, we divided and conquered. We split up tasks among team members and utilized CSS, HTML, Bootstrap, and JavaScript to build APIs and create a smooth functioning website.

Challenges I ran into

The APIs used to illustrate the locations where battles were fought were difficult to implement because we began by using an iframe API when we needed to use a JavaScript API. That cost us some time coding and adjusting. Upon implementing the newly built API it did not want to show up across pages.

Accomplishments that I'm proud of

After getting the APIs to work properly that is the accomplishment we are most proud of.

What I learned

Time can run out extremely faster than you expect.

What's next for sea air space dot org

Making it look cleaner, incorporating more interactive features, and making some form of a donation page for those who want to support veterans would be the next steps.
