Inspiration

Ice breakers have always been a major staple in both the education and corporate world; an easy way for people to get to know each other seamlessly. But with the global pandemic putting a halt to face to face relationships, people were forced to interact remotely. Despite being so many different social gaming platforms such as JackBox, Among Us or Skribbl.io, our team noticed that there wasn't a single platform that hosted multiple games for an affordable price.

What it does

QuackedUp is a web application that generates different lobbies to play mini games with your friends or workers! From just one click, you can begin breaking the ice! QuackedUp features 3 main games: Duck Duck Goose, Duckstagram, and Quack A Tune; each a parody of a classic icebreaker game!

How we built it

We first developed a very quick wireframe of how we imagined QuackedUP to resemble. Shortly after, our backend developers began fiddling with the logistics of the idea while our front-end utilized Figma to design mocks-up for QuackedUp. Through a lot of sleepless nights, and midnight trips to the local 711; we were able to finish developing the lobbies, the user creation, and a majority of the first game using Google Cloud, Firebase, React.js & CSS.
