Inspiration
Improving the course registration period by making professor and course information easier to access, adding a social aspect to course registration, and adding preferences to filter courses. Check out the comments for some details regarding the submission.
What it does
In regards to the new features I developed over Winter break, there is a landing page with authentication, a chatbot that can reference information from SCU Undergraduate Bulletin, feedback button for features, bugs, and uninstall, and functionality for editing courses displayed on your profile
How we built it
The frontend is largely next.js and the backend is largely javascript scripts and AWS Lambda functions.
Challenges we ran into
AWS Lambda was a little challenging at first, prompting the OpenAI assistant was a little challenging, and connecting the google sheets was a little challenging.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
I am proud of contributing features to a well rounded chrome extension.
What we learned
I learned how to use next.js for chrome extensions, how to connect the frontend with the backend, how to scrape data from websites, how to create lambda functions and api gateways, and the openai assistant api.
