SCTrucks

Introduction

SCTrucks is an Android-based mobile application that allow users to locate food trucks in the nearby area. The app provides directions to the desired food truck as well as ratings, hours of opperation, and relavent tweets regarding the food truck of choice.

We made use of both Yelp's and Twitter's public APIs to provide the data associated with each food truck and the GoogleMaps public API to direct our users reliably to their food truck of choice.

Our Mission

We developed this product to provide LA locals a reliable and pre-assembled database of travelling restaurants. We at SCTrucks love quality street food and strive to spread that love to as many people as possible.

My contributions focused on backend development with the twitter implementation along with leading design/vision and website development.

My work consisted of developing the back-end components of the app, including interfacing with Yelp's API, as well as implementing the Android app.

Samuel Kim
I worked on backend development, as I worked with the Yelp Business and Search APIs. I used this to create "FoodTruck" objects that were passed on to the rest of the application. I also worked on the Android implementation.

kaushiktandon
I worked on the high-level app design and how to implement our idea using the FoodTruck object. I also worked on how information was transferred from APIs so that it could be displayed neatly in Android.
