In Progress
Inspiration
Scrum was inspired by the desire for a collaboration method that allowed team members to pitch ideas without being stifled by self-consciousness or hierarchy. The name comes from my background in rugby where I use teamwork and communication in actual scrums. -Christina
What it will do
Allow teams to create anonymous collaboration spaces with custom fit tools to make the best use of the medium.
- We want teams to be able to create polls and record the number of participants who have responded
- Provide a group message stream for unfiltered communication
- Allow different levels of visibility to team members of attributes of the group.
How we built it
Using JavaScript and the Meteor App Platform. We did a lot of planning and used the MoSCoW system to prioritize all of our deliverables. We made good use of source control after ironing our a particularly nasty authentication problem and had overall great teamwork throughout the hackathon.
Challenges we ran into
We both came into this project new to web app development and learned everything required for this project from the ground up. We had a couple of particularly tricky challenges that took up way more of our time than we expected. We found ourselves having to take many hours out of the hackathon pouring over documentation trying to amass the knowledge necessary to succeed.
- Meteor
- Github
- Infoboard
- RPI Wifi
Accomplishments that I'm proud of
- We're proud of working for almost the entire hackathon. Easily 40 hours between the two of us went into this project.
- Learning: we both learned a tremendous amount about writing web applications!
- Coming up with an idea that we actually like and are excited to continue working on.
