Inspiration

Our inspiration was the IoT's hack that attacked the Dyn DNS services. And to try and get more into CyberSecurity.

What it does

Our product takes the html file off of shodan and we put them in a csv file and then the csv file would be put back into an array list in python and ran through a geo location api and the recorded longitude and latitude would be put in an csv file. After that the csv file gets put through a python script that runs a google maps api that plots the points of the geo locations and the google maps are then hosted to a website.

How we built it

We built this using mostly python and bash scripting that connected to different api's and websites.

Challenges we ran into

We ran into many challenges with python and the different versions and the library's we needed for this project. We also ran into problems with how the csv files would be ran through the different scripts and to output to a webpage ran off of the google map api.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Overall, we feel very proud to have made a working project that could do the task as we intended, but almost entirely automated. As a group, we ran into issues along the way that seemed insurmountable, but our ability to pivot and salvage our designs allowed us to have a poof of concept along with aspects built entirely from scratch.

What we learned

All of us had to develop in python, in addition to the development we all had to participate in, it allowed us to learn more about technology with regards to PLC's, IoT, terminals, OS's, and web development.

What's next for Scrubbed.io

This sparked our interest in creative expression, all of us were deeply engaged and enjoyed having a project that hinged on the collective success of the group.
