Inspiration We’ve always admired how films bring stories to life. But not everyone has the tools, skills, or resources to create professional animated videos. This inspired us to build Scriptly, a platform where anyone can turn ideas into 3D animated stories with ease — just like a real director.

What It Does Scriptly transforms simple text into fully animated 3D videos. Users can create and customize characters, set backgrounds, choose camera angles, add background music, and even record their own voice dubbing — all without needing any animation skills.

How We Built It We combined a 3D rendering engine with natural language processing to convert scripts into scenes. The backend manages scene generation, character rigging, and camera control, while the frontend provides an intuitive interface for users to edit, customize, and preview animations in real-time.

Challenges We Ran Into Getting lip-sync to match custom dubbing was tougher than expected. We also faced challenges in dynamically selecting suitable backgrounds based on text context and optimizing real-time rendering without performance drops.

Accomplishments That We're Proud Of We’re proud of making 3D animation accessible to everyone. Building smooth camera transitions, real-time character customization, and an easy voice dubbing system within a simple interface was a huge win for us.

What We Learned This journey taught us how crucial it is to balance technical complexity with user simplicity. We deepened our understanding of 3D workflows, AI-driven scene mapping, and creating smooth user experiences.

What's Next for Scriptly We plan to expand Scriptly with more diverse characters, environments, and props. Features like AI-driven emotion-based animations, collaborative editing, and a mobile app are next on our roadmap.
