Cosmic Connection

Inspiration

We aim to create a community that provides a safe space for individuals to explore themselves and connect with like-minded people.

What it does

A mobile webpage that allows users to match with each other based on zodiac signs and other compatibility factors.

How we built it

We started on the front-end in React with TypeScript and later developed the back-end with Django.

Challenges we ran into

We had a difficult time developing the back-end, especially because no one on our team had much experience. No one was experienced in developing a webpage, so working through numerous obstacles was inevitable, but we were able to overcome these adversities by utilizing our resources.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We created a mobile webpage that a user can successfully interact with. More specifically, we created a working chat function along with the feature to view "matches" through flippable profile cards.

What we learned

We learned the ins and outs of developing a front-end and a back-end, and adapted to different languages and frameworks, such as TypeScript and Django.

What's next for Cosmic Connection

The inclusion of other users and utilizing AI to facilitate matching would elevate our project. As well as further expansion of the front-end to include a map feature and AR to mimic a stellarium.
