Inspiration
We noticed that people often spend too much time deciding what to watch on TV. We wanted to make content discovery easier by helping users find something that matches their mood and available time.
What it does
ScreenWise AI is a smart TV content discovery prototype that recommends titles based on mood and viewing time. Users can explore recommendations, understand why a title fits, save to a watchlist, and use 'Surprise Me' to discover something new.
How we built it
Our team of two, Himanshu and Muskan Kumari, built a browser-based prototype using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. We added mood and time filters, recommendation cards, explanations, interactive navigation, and a watchlist saved in local storage. 'Surprise Me' to help users discover something unexpected.
Challenges we ran into
Making recommendations feel relevant to mood and time. creating an interface that felt simple and useful instead of just a design mockup.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We're Proud Of. We turned an idea into a working interactive prototype that users can actually explore, test, and enjoy.
What we learned
How to link front-end features with user experience goals, how to iterate quickly, and how to test and refine interactions.
What's next for Screenwise-ai
We want to expand the recommendation system, improve the UI for TV remotes, and explore integrations with actual content catalogs, where possible. Eventually, we'd like to bring it to the hackathon's target TV platform.
