Scrolling through social media while driving is unsafe and impractical — yet many valuable conversations, updates, and opinions unfold on platforms like X (formerly Twitter) and Reddit every day.
Social Media Reader was built to bridge this gap, enabling a hands-free experience that turns text-based posts into immersive, spoken audio — perfect for listening while driving, walking, cooking, or multitasking.
It transforms how you consume social content by:
🛣️ Delivering tweets and Reddit threads through your car's speakers
👂 Making passive listening possible without screens
🎧 Assigning unique AI voices to users, so it feels like you're listening to a real conversation
It was build using Brightdata(for Reddit) and Selenium(for X) which scrapes posts, and InworldAI for text to speech
Biggest Challenge/Next steps :
The biggest challege as assigning each user the same voice. And other thing was using apporpriate voices for each gender.Using the right voices for public people. Currently its hardcorded to one twitter users posts, instead make it personalized to read the current users feed instead of single user and for reddit.. read multiple posts instead of a hardcode single post
