Inspiration

We saw a volume control sensor and a motor.

What it does

It's a rover that increases speed the more you scream into it.

How we built it

We used an Arduino, breadboard, sound sensor and 2 motors to make a rover that moves based on sound. We then 3D printed a body to house the components.

Challenges we ran into

The motors weren't strong enough for the weight of the rover, the sensor was not very reliable, we had no idea how to use an Arduino before this, changing wheels multiple times, the voltage of the battery being too low, the motor that came in the kit was not strong enough, and the motor's wires kept falling off.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Designing the thing, learning how to use an Arduino, and using the sensors accurately.

What we learned

How to use an Arduino, how to get a certain volume, how to code in C++, and how to wire it properly.

What's next for Screaming Rover

Getting better sensors to increase the accuracy and allow for different pitches and words to do different things.
