Inspiration - Eliminating food waste by helping people figure out what to do with about to expire food in their fridge

What it does - It web scrapes Simplyrecipes.com for recipes and ingredients and then sees which recipes match the ingredients you want to use.

How we built it - We used beautiful soup for the web scraping and flask for the front end. Our primary languages were python and html.

Challenges we ran into - Combining the front and back end.

Accomplishments that we're proud of - Being able to make a successful web scraper

What we learned - How to use Beautiful soup effectively as well as flask. Also figuring out how to divide work between teammates.

What's next for Scrapps - Making the website run faster as well as making it look better.

I worked on the back end using Python and SQL to try to speed up the run time of the program. I also would review the code.

I worked on the script that would actually scrape the ingredients, images, and titles from the recipe site which I organized into one data structure. I also worked on integrating the data we had collected with the website.

I did full-stack engineering. I made the script for gathering the recipes and the ingredients and then uploading them to the html file/website.

I worked on getting flask to run and helped trying to get sql integrated with our program. This was my first time coding in python and using sql but I learn a lot.
