Inspiration
I live in Delhi, India and near my home, there is a huge mountain of unrecycled waste that is becoming more huge day by day, and trust me that's not a very good sight to see in the morning when u are going to college. Scrap Recycling Management is bad here so I try to make an end-to-end solution for it.
What it does
It is an end-to-end solution where users can come, register as either household or scrap dealer, and then if u want to recycle your scrap, you can just come to our website and then u can find all the near bye scrap dealers around u real-time (PS: Its super cool to see it real-time). Then u can book the deal with the dealer by filling in all the details and U will get a WhatsApp notification alert and a nice cute badge as a reward to use our platform.
How we built it
I build it solo in like 3 days and used many new APIs that I haven't used before and I use MERN stack for the website. It was fun doing so many things and also learning many things as well.
Challenges we ran into
Map APIs was the most challenging part of the project and It was very hard to keep track of all things at once as it was a very big project. Twilio Setup was really hard at the beginning but after reading docs I understand the process.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
I'm very proud that I built this project finally and hope it will help many people to recycle their scrap and waste to help the environment.
What we learned
I have learned many things while making this project like to make a scalable project and many others things.
What's next for Scrapify
I will try to add more features in the website and soon it will also be available as Android Apps.
