Inspiration

I wanted to solve the problem of creating a scraper that does not require manual fix every time. Hence, once you deploy Scraper-Man, you are done with job hunting.

What it does

Scraper-Man is hosted on github and runs the pipeline there. I have given it a URL that post start-up job applications. Every 12 hours, the automated pipeline works and grabs job listings and and put them into a jobs.html webpage, also hosted on github so you have the access to all the listings with JD on a single webpate. At the end for the selected jobs, it can draft/tailor a CV on a blank template by matching the skills required for the job and the experience/projects you have worked on using the experience.md file.

How we built it

I built the project on vscode, hosted it on github for automation. Additionally, I vibecoded the UI designing part.

Challenges we ran into

The core challenge was creating the feature that can edit the template.docx document to automatically create a resume for the selected job. I worked it for 2 days straight and now it's working smooth.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

I am proud of creating a method for people to find and apply for jobs. I am proud of creating an 80% automated workflow where, finding the job, creating a personalized resume is automated and now applying is just a few clicks of work.

What we learned

I learnt more about github automation and workflow.

What's next for Scraper-Man

I would like to win this hackathon, so I can use the winning amount and deploy this properly on google could so that I can have hundreds of users use it. Soon, it will start making money.
