Inspiration
A PM of 8 years, I recently became a licensed Real Estate Agent, but I hate the job. The job is manual, unscalable, and you have to do EVERYTHING.
I've spoken to numerous realtors, and the #1 issue is always lead generation and marketing. It's painful, tedious, and something they give up on. 87% of agents quit within the first five years! Scout is just the beginning to helping realtors provide a high-quality, consistent experience, without the time and effort.
About me: I have never been a software engineer and do not know how to code.
What it does
This is built for realtors by a realtor.
With details about the buyer, Scout will find analyze listings as they appear on the market to see if there's a match with any of your clients. If there's a match, Scout will generate a personalized email to the client and keep a log of it for you.
Down the road, there will be analytics so you can track which houses the client is most interested in to keep you truly informed about your client.
How I built it
Tools:
- GLM4.6 (open source LLM)
- SendGrid API
- Claude Code
- Github
- Vercel
Challenges we ran into
Home listing data is gated. I've requested access earlier this year, and again yesterday, but they have not responded. It is also very expensive. However, in the meantime, if an agent wants to download MLS data and share it with Scout, this will still work really well.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
I will be using my own product. I love how it looks, and am excited about the upcoming features!
What we learned
This is the first Agent I've ever built and I learned so much on how to build, test, and analyze the outcomes.
What's next for Scout - Email Agent for Realtors
Engagement analytics will enable us to learn about clients more than what they say. If we can track which listings they click on, what kind of messaging they respond to, then the success rate of working with this client is much higher.
But email is just the start. Cold outreach, drip marketing, educational marketing, are all still untouched. There's also text messages!
There are a lot of other AI tools such as disclosure analysis, or analysis of other lengthy documents.
