Inspiration

We bring affordable music education to everybody and try to help teachers who's businesses have been shut down.

Founder

It´s actually a project started by my brother Johannes Kobald who is a classical music teacher for piano. I built the prototype last year.

What it does

1. The scoreflows player delivers music tracks to the student. The student can turn on and off tracks as needed and play along with professional recorded audio material. The tempo can be changed to fit the personal skill.
2. The scoreflows player is also a tool for professional and amateur music ensembles who want to prepare for a concert without rehearsing together.

Unique selling proposition

In contrary to existing products we provide audio material with only necessary tempo changes and limit interpretations. This is important to develop individual musical expressions and for the professionals to be unbiased for the interpretations of the conductor for the concert.

How I built it

It´s a webapp built with vanilla javascript and a php backend with sox as an audioprocessor.

Challenges I ran into

Prepare the system for a bigger scale.

What's next for scoreflows player - remote music teaching system

Create thousands of playback tracks! Use webpack, change backend to microservices to run on a Kubernetes cluster. It would be great to built in a video/audio chat into the player, so that the teacher can check the progress of the student and give advice for improvment of the performance. Put the whole thing into an iOS and Android app.
