Inspiration
Before coming across this hackathon, I was anxious about coming up with a solution to the challenges students are failing these days due to the bad impacts brought by Covid-19. Immediately when I cam across this hackathon, I didn't even have to think twice, i just knew that this is the right chance for me to make explore my idea of coming up with the solution to helping students.
What it does
This is a platform that will help students and teachers collaborate in wherever each students is, as if they were all together in the same classroom. The most interesting thing about this is that students don't necessarily have to know each other, there's a just a portal where every member will be available, including every teacher/tutor registered in the platform. Also there is a library where certain books can be found and past exam papers.
How we built it
This platform was build using some programming languages which includes PHP, MySQLi, etc. I tried to make it more simple and straight forward for easy usage to users.
Challenges we ran into
A challenge I came across when developing this platform was making the divisions in the site so that some students may group themselves together if they feel they don't need the whole crowd but still want the benefits of the platform (SCOI). But eventually I overcame that problem. So now all that is going to happen smooth.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
The most thing I'm proud of is that I was able to finish the project in time. It is my first time to finish a project doing it alone. This so much of a great achievement to me.
What we learned
From this project I learnt to work under pressure and meet some targets of my own. And I also learnt a new programming language, JavaScript, since I needed it for the smooth flow of the platform.
What's next for SCOI
SCOI is aiming at spreading globally and be of great help and benefit to the entire world by being the best platform in providing the best interactive tools for students for their academic stuff.
