Scillia

Inspiration My inspiration came from my parents, my dad was a bit carefree witb documenting things while my mum was inept in keeping in details. Opposite people in matters like this bht somehow they compliment eachother. Growing up and to this point they do have their farm and also garden at home. So i just thought why not build something that you can document and at the same time have fun doing it. Not driven by likes or algorithm but by a strong community of builders and creatives who're at any stage of any project while documenting and sharing specific moments with people they choose.

What it does Scillia isn't just another journal but it's here to solve the problem every other top journal overlooked all this while which is a shared community. All social media are driven by likes but here we want to know your journey, we want to grow with you through every phase as witnesses so when it happens we'd be like we were here all through this journey.

Thats the Scillia dream.

How we built it My first major was in computer science so i have basic knowledge of application and systems development but building an app from start to finish takes longer even with complete team, but i was able to achieve that in months using Open AI Chat GPT 5.4

Challenges we ran into getting our app published, subscribing to various API's, managing college stress , unemployment and also building at the same time even though it was overwhelming and at a point i almost gave up. God kept me going and my morning 8am alaram that reminds me you mudt finish what you started 😂

Accomplishments that we're proud of -- It was alot and sometimes i questioned myself what're you even doing but at the end i saw it was possible and i know from this point here onward we'd build more services that will be of great benefit to people.

What we learned I learnt alot coding with Open AI even more than what i learnt in classrooms as it was more practical, this is like having bitcoin in early 2000's and i'm happy i joined the band wagon early enough.

What's next for Scillia After publishing our first prototype and currently going through closed testing i know we can actually achieve this dream. I can see it happening already and i know it will.
