Attain Team has built a highly scalable, robust mobile application solution that enables scientific users to easily access any of the datasets provided by NIST and also any reports that are generated by SciData server. We believe that SciData represents a solution that enables a much greater level of access to scientific data.
The SciData server automatically keeps in-sync with and was designed to handle many thousands of NIST datasets. The SciData server software can operate efficiently on all datasets simultaneously to create reports and analyses that can draw upon all of datasets at once. All reports and datasets are cached on the server and regenerated whenever their source data changes.
The SciData client app automatically synchronizes with the server when online and any data or reports accessed by the user are automatically cached. The user can still access all the cached data and reports when offline. The mobile app provides a user friendly environment with a search ability that makes all of the data and reports on the server readily accessible to the user.
Back-end tier is hosted on Amazon AWS cloud and provides RESTful services to hide the complexity of the system and enhance automation. This solution exposes the data to the outside world for a unified view.
Currently the app is in a beta state and some of the server-based automation features are not yet released. Also, the Android app does not currently create pages dynamically. In the future we envision many more datasets and reports.
