Inspiration
Science education often focuses heavily on theory, while practical experimentation is limited due to lack of laboratories, complex research materials, and limited resources in many schools. At the same time, scientific knowledge is growing rapidly through research papers, but these papers are usually too technical for school students to understand. We were inspired to create a solution that bridges the gap between advanced scientific research and school-level learning. Our goal was to make science accessible, visual, and interactive for students from Grade 4 to Grade 12. SciBridge AI was created to transform complex research knowledge into simple experiments, allowing students to learn science not just by reading but by exploring and experimenting.
What it does
SciBridge AI is an AI-powered learning platform for students from Grade 4 to Grade 12. It helps students: • Convert complex research papers into simple experiments • Explore science concepts in a fun and visual way • Perform experiments in an interactive virtual lab • Get AI explanations of difficult topics • Watch recommended educational videos • Test their understanding through quizzes
The platform makes science easier, practical, and engaging for young learners.
How we built it
• Frontend built with HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and Bootstrap • Backend developed using Node.js and Express.js • Gemini AI API used for research simplification and explanations • Virtual lab simulations created using JavaScript animations • Video recommendations integrated from YouTube • Responsive design built for easy use on different devices
Challenges we ran into
• Simplifying complex research papers for school-level understanding • Designing a virtual lab that is both simple and interactive • Creating an interface suitable for students from Grade 4 to Grade 12 • Connecting AI responses with experiment generation
These challenges helped us improve both the AI prompts and the user experience.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
• Successfully converting research papers into simple experiments • Building a fun and interactive virtual science lab • Creating an AI learning assistant for STEM education • Designing a platform accessible for younger students • Developing a complete AI-powered STEM learning prototype
What we learned
• How AI can transform complex knowledge into simple learning experiences • The importance of designing educational tools for different age groups • How to integrate AI with interactive learning systems • The value of combining research knowledge with practical experimentation
What's next for SciBridge AI –Bridge Between Research and School Experiments
• Add more virtual experiments for physics, chemistry, and biology • Improve the AI system for more accurate experiment generation • Introduce gamified learning features and science challenges • Support teacher dashboards for classroom use • Expand the platform to help schools with limited laboratory resources
Our vision is to make SciBridge AI a global STEM learning platform for students everywhere. 🚀
