We aimed to create a sci-fi themed team portfolio that is fun for recruiters and professionals to look at.

CONFIRMATION: We are an officially registered team for Hackiethon 2022 YuYang Ji, Jie Xiang Fan, Chris Yuen.

Inspiration

We were inspired by elements from different video games and sci-fi movies, and wanted to recreate a space-like team portfolio.

The main purpose is to make each profile more engaging for anyone to look at, whether they are fellow students, recruiters or professionals.

What it does

Users will first have to select one of us, as if we are selectable video game characters. Then, they will be re-directed to our individual profiles and portfolios. There, they can see all of our details, experiences, skills and projects using a clean interface!

How we built it

We built it using a React application, and lots of custom CSS! We incorporated Bootstrap to help us with some structural styling, particularly the flex features.

Challenges we ran into

We wanted to incorporate ALOT of space-like animations and effects. Thus, we had to read a lot of documentation and learnt some new skills along the way.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We've only created simple (generic) layouts so this is something new for all of us, particularly the use of so many animations and hover effects.

What we learned

Designing an interface in a short amount of time, considering the user experience as well as being as creative as we can.

What's next for Sci-fi team portfolio

Incorporating video elements and moving backgrounds can further enhance the futuristic look of our website!
