Enterprise IT budgets aren't static. For a massive logistics and food entity like Schwan's, a $600k cloud hosting bill isn't just an expense; it's a contract that locks up capital. We realized that variance numbers are useless if a contract is locked. The CFO doesn't just need to know what we spent; they need to know when they have leverage to renegotiate.
What it does We built a dual-view Strategic IT Dashboard:
Executive View: Tracks 2026 Planned vs. Actual spend, visualizes budget variance, and provides a 5-year compounding forecast based on real-time data.
Operations Ledger: A fully interactive procurement table where managers can add line items, adjust pricing, and track contract renewals.
The "Wow" Factor: It features an automated 90-day risk visualizer. If a SaaS contract or hardware lease is expiring within 3 months, it flags the item in red, alerting Schwan's leadership to renegotiate before auto-renewal hits.
Hybrid Inflation Modeling: Allows for a global baseline inflation rate, but permits specific line-item overrides (e.g., hardware might be 0%, but SaaS is locked at 8%).
