Inspiration

We were inspired by the pressure that surrounds university students, such as ourselves and our peers. We wanted to focus on helping other students make wise choices to prevent and treat burnout from their studies.

What it does

This is a user interactive simulation which allows the user to pick different choices for how their day will progress and how that can effect their overall stress levels.

How we built it

We used HTML and VSCode to collaborate with one another and split tasks based on skillsets and creativity.

Challenges we ran into

There were a few challenges we ran into. One of them was using VSCode for the first time to collaborate and merge branches without collisions. Another challenge we faced was implementing the stress bar so that it would stay consistent throughout the entire program and adjust according to user input. We figured this out through trial and error from multiple team members! Lastly, finding an idea that felt right and possible to implement. It took us a while to overcome our 'coding block' because we had so many different ideas but we managed to reach a consensus.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

All of us used HTML for the first time and we were able to create a functional program with different features we coded with little experience. Making a program that can help UIC students feels like an accomplishment of its own.

What we learned

We learned how to code with HTML and how to use buttons to implement multiple screens that create a cohesive story. We also learned how to adapt to handling different tasks such as frontend to backend to factors outside of coding.
