Inspiration
The lack of review of curriculum in schools is a huge inspiration for us as a team. Year in, year out, increasing number of graduates that aren't prepared for after school, that are ignorant of what is really expected out there are released into the labor market. This is because they didn't get the required skills or didn't know about them because their schools didn't really prepare them for it and they weren't informed.
What Scholars' Bridge does
Scholars' Bridge is a platform where students can help themselves, share information, find study buddies from their schools and others as individuals from different institutions can register. Scholar's Bridge will help lifelong learners and students understand difficult concepts, share notes, compare curriculum as well as share opportunities for skills building.
How we built it
Scholars' Bridge was built using a micro-services architecture, a team of backend developers prepared the endpoint and a team of frontend developers designed the user interface as well as consumed the endpoints.
Challenges we ran into
There was a minor challenge about managing team members due to time constraints.
What we learned
We have learnt that technology can be harnessed for social good and more individuals especially learners can have more efficiency with the availability of cutting edge technologies like Scholars' Bridge.
What's next for Scholars' Bridge
The current solution we have is just a Minimum Viable Product and we are very ready as a team to scale up our ideas. We have also written the project in the Open source way and we welcome contributions from more developers and even learners to better the platform.
