Inspiration

As a student, I've faced numerous challenges throughout my academic journey. Whether it's managing school supplies, tracking grades, or finding reliable resources, the struggle to stay organized and succeed has always been real. Inspired by these experiences, I hoped to help solve or at least mitigate some of these challenges one day. When I saw an opportunity in the form of a hackathon, I jumped on it.

What it does

Scholarly is an all-in-one app designed to address common issues students face. It helps with tracking grades, managing supplies, and providing reliable educational resources, making the academic journey smoother and more manageable.

How we built it

Leveraging my extensive experience with Python and Streamlit, tools I regularly use in my AI-focused robotics team and projects, I set out to create this app. I developed a custom databasing system where all the data is stored securely and locally, without relying on third parties. Streamlit helped simplify the development process significantly.

Challenges we ran into

One of the biggest challenges I encountered was my limited experience in app development. This lack of experience led me to take a more complicated and convoluted approach, making the development process longer than necessary.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Despite the hurdles, I was able to pull through and create an application that students from around the world can benefit from. I'm proud of developing a secure and efficient system that keeps all user data stored locally.

What we learned

This project became a learning opportunity where I gained valuable insights and skills in app development. The experience taught me how to streamline development processes and handle challenges more effectively.

What's next for Scholarly

Moving forward, I plan to continue refining Scholarly by adding more features and improving its functionality based on user feedback. The goal is to make it an indispensable tool for students everywhere, helping them achieve academic excellence.
