Inspiration

In India, over 500 million students struggle daily to find information about scholarships, government schemes, and career paths. Most miss life-changing opportunities simply because the information is scattered and hard to access.

I personally know students who missed scholarship deadlines because they didn't know where to look. That inspired me to build ScholarAI — an intelligent AI agent that acts like a knowledgeable elder brother or sister for every Indian student, available 24/7, completely free.

How I built it

I built ScholarAI entirely using ASI:ONE's Personal AI platform:

  1. I created a new AI agent on ASI:ONE and named it ScholarAI
  2. I designed a detailed personality covering all Indian student needs — scholarships, exams, careers, government schemes, and project guidance
  3. I added a friendly Indian student mentor avatar to make it relatable and approachable for students
  4. I enabled voice support so students can speak their questions instead of typing, making it more accessible
  5. I thoroughly tested ScholarAI with real student questions and refined the responses to ensure accuracy and helpfulness

The entire solution was built by me using ASI:ONE — proving that powerful AI solutions are accessible to everyone, even without complex coding.

Challenges I ran into

Challenge 1: Designing the right personality Getting ScholarAI to respond in a friendly, encouraging way while still being accurate and detailed required me to carefully craft the personality instructions multiple times until it felt natural.

Challenge 2: Covering all student types India has students from hundreds of different backgrounds, categories, states, and income levels. I had to think deeply to design ScholarAI so it helps ALL of them equally, not just students from one region.

Challenge 3: Multi-language support Making sure ScholarAI correctly identifies and responds in the student's preferred language — Hindi, Tamil, or Telugu — required careful personality design and thorough testing on my part.

Accomplishments that I'm proud of

  • I made it respond naturally in Hindi and Tamil when students ask in those languages
  • Voice support makes it accessible even for students who can't type
