Inspiration
Scholar AI was created to help researchers understand complex academic papers more easily. Many papers are dense and hard to read, and it’s difficult to identify key insights, gaps, or related research. We wanted to make a tool that acts like a research companion, guiding users through papers and helping them learn faster.
What it does
- Fetch Papers: Get papers by title, arXiv ID, or paste text directly
- Summarize Paper: Generate concise summaries of papers
- Read & Explain: Explain difficult terms and concepts clearly
- Learning Roadmap: Suggest prerequisite or related papers
- Chat with Paper: Ask questions about the paper and get AI-analyzed answers
- Gap Analysis: Identify gaps in the research
- Predictions: Suggest future directions or potential improvements
How we built it
- Frontend: React with TypeScript 5.8, React White-Tailon
- Backend: Node.js 18.16
- AI Integration: Gemini 3 API for analysis, summaries, and explanations
- Database: arXiv for academic paper data
- Responsive, clean interface for easy research navigation
