Inspiration

Filling out the common application and realizing that there are students who solved world hunger and won Nobel prizes and we did not. We want to be able to bring hope and opportunities to students who have difficulty navigating scholarships and activities on their own.

What it does

It is a website that organizes all sorts of opportunities for high school students to discover and apply for. An interface that is user friendly enough for students to properly navigate through and find different types of extracurricular activities. From research opportunities to internships to volunteering, the website organizes the different types. It also includes deadlines for students to prevent procrastination.

How we built it

Coded using HTML on Replit.

Challenges we ran into

Making changes to create a interface that will be different from the basic long lists of links. Also, including images and building the website to look visually appealing.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We are proud of the basis of our project. We have more goals and ideas however, we are proud for the progress our wonderful coder, Sonia has made and our amazing designer Jillian made. Faith and Naufa kept the backbone of the group doing the research and presentation.

What we learned

Coding is not for the weak. We should've gone for something simpler and planned out how to distribute work better.

What's next for Scholar Center
