Inspiration
We wanted to make an app that simplifies getting in touch with your teachers, sometimes it can be confusing/awkward to schedule appointments with your teachers and the goal of our project was to make it easy.
What it does
The app allows students to request meetings with teachers on different days of the week. The app also allows teachers to set and change their daily office hours so students know when they can walk in.
How we built it
Using Visual Studio Code and Apache Netbeans
Challenges we ran into
The main challenge we ran into was notifying the user that the appointment was accepted/denied. As we are all beginner programmers we didn't know a way to do this so we settled on emailing the user. However, we ran out of time before we could implement this.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Creating the GUI by hand with java ended up being way harder than expected.
