Inspiration
My main inspiration for Schedulely is my own schedule grids that I've had for years and have undergone a lot of changes.
What it does
Schedulely is a tool for weekly organization and so can do a lot of things that would be useful from an organization standpoint. This includes customized colors and titles for up to ten markers, color-coded blocks to show the times for each marker, the ability to move, warp, and delete said blocks, the option to delete any marker of your choice, and a built-in screenshot button for easy record keeping.
How we built it
Schedulely was built in Processing 3 using java as its programming language, while the code itself was made with the assistance of Google Gemini.
Challenges we ran into
The main challenge I ran into was that Gemini was sometimes very hard to work with, especially when it made small oversights that took several minutes to correct.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
I'm proud of the number of features I was able to add to Schedulely, especially when considering that this is my second ever submission for any hackathon.
What we learned
I learned two main things:
- Coding programs like java processing can do a lot more than I thought it could
- AI tools can code almost anything that is theoretically possible
What's next for Schedulely
I may add some different background color schemes and a few more features such as wrapping blocks to make Schedulely even more versatile and convenient.
