Inspiration
All three of the creators of Schedule Saver are high school juniors in MCPS who therefore don't have mandatory classes on Wednesdays. This has made it hard to keep Wednesdays organized and productive. Thus emerged the idea for Schedule Saver - by having a schedule created for you, it is much easier to stay on task and focused.
What it does
Schedule Saver lets you input everything you want to get done during the day, as well as specific things that you need to get done at a certain time. It then builds you a schedule of when to do your tasks, starting with your longest task, and working around specific timed tasks.
How we built it
Schedule Saver was built in Glitch using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
HTML was used to create the text input boxes where users would input their activities and corresponding times, and also to structure the whole website in general.
CSS was used to style the navigation bar and to generally make the website look appealing.
JavaScript was used to receive and organize the user's inputted activities into a feasible schedule.
Challenges we ran into
We ran into problems with transferring user input into a form that we could manipulate, but we eventually figured it out. We also had some trouble with making the schedule algorithm work.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We're proud of implementing local storage to store user inputs.
