Inspiration

This project was inspired by classic slasher films — especially the Scream franchise — and the fun, over-the-top energy of Halloween social media content. The idea was to mix horror aesthetics with short-form storytelling, creating something spooky, cinematic, and shareable.

What it does

Scary Movie Halloween | Social Short | Ghostface is an AI-generated short video that reimagines the iconic Ghostface character in a modern, stylized Halloween setting. It captures the suspense and atmosphere of a horror trailer but in a quick, punchy format perfect for social platforms.

How we built it

Created visuals using Higgsfield Popcorn for consistent horror-inspired imagery, then animated with Grok Imagine to add motion and tension. Finally, I stitched everything together in CapCut, timing the cuts, sound effects, and pacing to match the eerie, suspenseful mood of a Halloween teaser.

Challenges we ran into

Maintaining visual consistency with dark, moody lighting and shadow effects.

Ensuring the animation timing built tension without feeling rushed.

Finding the right balance between scary and stylish for social media appeal.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Created a cinematic AI horror short that feels both creepy and polished.

Captured the Ghostface aesthetic through color, texture, and motion.

Demonstrated how AI tools can be used to produce short-form genre content quickly and effectively.

What we learned

How important tone, pacing, and lighting are when crafting suspense visually.

That AI tools can handle genre-specific storytelling when given strong direction.

How editing can transform AI visuals into something that feels like a real movie trailer.

What's next for Scary Movie Halloween | Social Short | Ghostface

Experimenting with longer narrative horror shorts using AI visuals and sound design.

Creating a series of AI Halloween vignettes featuring different horror icons.

Exploring interactive or looping formats for social media horror content.
