Tired of looking at stacks of receipts and coming bak home and re-entering them in a financial log.
What it does
This "ScanTheCan" app is your personal grocery log assistant - it keeps track of your receipts, calculates your expenditure and reduces paper waste all in one.
How we built it
We have built a restful API using Django and python and after testing it thoroughly, we built a native iOS app to talk to the api. We have a postgres database to store user/company credentials. We're using QRCode, UPC-A and EAN-13 barcodes to make life easier for all stake holders.

That we were able to collaborate and build a completely functional application with a sign-up system grounds up. It is scalable, secure and easy to use as well.

What's next for ScanTheCan
It has a lot of potential - It is opportunistic as it smoothens the business transaction. The app can also potentially replace bar code scanners (hence, even reducing e-waste) and will definitely save time for the stakeholders.
