ScanText for the blind

Our device, the ScanText is aimed at making the world a better accessible and sensible place for the blind people. Built using basic tools like an arduino,this device works by taking a snapshot of any text or readable material through a smartphone application and the code matches this with the braille letters, built on a prototype model, thus elevating it and enabling the user to sense the displacement in the letters and identify the scanned text in an orderly manner. The inspiration behind this hack was to allow the disabled to overcome the difficulties faced in today's society and come forward and experience life by making use of simple yet manageable tools. Our device comes with the very advantage that it is easily portable, doesn't require high maintenance and it is easily usable by any general audience after an explanation about its working.
