Inspiration
Long checkout queues waste customers’ time and create frustration in supermarkets. We wanted to make shopping faster, easier, and smarter through a mobile-based checkout solution.
What it does
Scan2Go allows customers to scan product barcodes using their smartphones, manage a real-time shopping cart, pay through UPI, and receive digital receipts with QR-based exit verification.
How we built it
We designed Scan2Go using React.js for the frontend, Node.js and Express.js for the backend, and PostgreSQL for data storage. The platform integrates barcode scanning, cart management, payment verification, and digital receipt generation.
Challenges we ran into
Our main challenges included ensuring accurate product scanning, maintaining real-time cart updates, verifying payment status securely, and designing a reliable QR-based exit verification process.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
- Built Scan2Go to reduce checkout queues and improve shopping convenience.
- Integrated barcode scanning, smart cart management, UPI payments, and digital receipts.
- Designed secure payment verification and QR-based exit validation for faster shopping.
What we learned
We learned how to connect frontend and backend systems, manage shopping data, integrate digital payment workflows, and design a practical solution for real-world retail problems.
What's next for Scan2Go – Smart Checkout Platform
We aim to integrate AI-powered fraud detection, inventory synchronization, personalized recommendations, and support for more supermarkets.
