Inspiration

During the COVID, many of our friends who were college students regularly asked us for advice on the finest gadgets for students as well as information on special discounts available to them. then we went back to just responding to everyone's queries. However, a few days ago, when we were brainstorming a fresh concept for this hackathon, the idea suddenly came to us. We decided to create and host a website that enables college students to explore the greatest items that have been carefully chosen for them.

The project's name carries a unique significance. It essentially implies that the students may scan their bag packs and look through our store for any missing school supplies.

What it does

Our idea suggests the students who wish to purchase based on their needs. Assume a student wants to purchase a laptop for academic use. He may browse our list of recommendations on our website, and if he decides to purchase it, our website will link him to the retailer's website. Additionally, we have offered many discounts to students, who may take advantage of these while buying items. The recommended items lists have been carefully chosen by a group of techies who believe these are useful products.

How we built it

We primarily used three languages to create this website: HTML, PHP, and CSS. For the front-end design, we have used HTML, and CSS - HTML serves as a kind of body, CSS is a cornerstone technology for styling and arranging web pages, PHP loads the products from the database into the website, and Bootstrap is a hugely flexible and reusable collection of HTML, JavaScript, and CSS code.

Challenges we ran into

Time is one of the most difficult issues since it is more difficult to do the entire job in a short amount of time. We have to start the project from scratch because this is our first hackathon and we don't have experience before. We encountered several issues due to the lack of various resources and some incorrect code fragments. Working with a specific approach where all team members are at ease with various technologies and approaches made us troublesome when developing a single solution while taking into account the opinions and approaches of all the team members.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We are very proud of the teamwork that we have done in the past two days. This is really a good and proud moment that we participated in this type of competition for the first time and completed the task our successfully in a given time in fact we made it possible in 24 hrs. we learnt many things while working on this task we tried to be creative, meaningful and useful for which we have done.

What we learned

From working on this project, we have learned a lot. We gained a lot of new information about web programming, including how to deal with Bootstrap, MySQL, PHP, and many other technologies. We also learned how to manage time, distribute work among team members, and merge all the code samples.

What's next for Scan The Bags

After doing some research, we'd want to offer additional products and change all of the regular links with affiliate links, so that we may get paid if any students use our link to buy anything. Additionally, we want to modify some UI components by adding personalised recommendations.
