🛡️ ScamShield AI

💡 Inspiration

Online scams are becoming harder to recognize. People receive suspicious job offers, fake delivery messages, phishing messages, and requests for money every day.

I wanted to build a simple tool that does more than just say “This is a scam.” It should explain why a message may be risky and help users make safer decisions.

This inspired me to create ScamShield AI — Think Before You Trust.

🚀 What It Does

ScamShield AI allows users to analyze suspicious:

  • SMS messages
  • Emails
  • WhatsApp messages
  • Job/internship offers
  • Website text

The AI provides:

  • 📊 Risk Score (0–100)
  • ⚠️ Risk Level
  • 🏷️ Scam Category
  • 🚩 Warning Signs
  • 🛡️ Safety Recommendations

Instead of giving only a yes/no answer, ScamShield AI provides an explainable risk assessment so users can understand the possible warning signs.

🛠️ How I Built It

I developed the project as a modern web application using:

  • React + Vite
  • AI-powered scam analysis
  • Lovable AI
  • GitHub

I focused on creating a simple, responsive, and cybersecurity-focused interface that is easy for anyone to understand.

📚 What I Learned

Building ScamShield AI helped me learn how to:

  • Turn a real-world problem into a practical solution
  • Integrate AI into a web application
  • Design a user-friendly interface
  • Manage a project using GitHub
  • Test and improve a project under a short deadline
  • Think about responsible and explainable AI

🧩 Challenges

As a solo developer, one of my biggest challenges was building a complete working project within a limited hackathon timeframe.

I had to learn new tools, connect different parts of the application, test AI-generated results, and continuously improve the user experience.

Another challenge was making the system provide useful explanations instead of simply labeling a message as a scam.

🌟 Future Vision

ScamShield AI aims to make online safety easier and more understandable for everyone.

The goal is simple:

Analyze. Understand. Think Before You Trust.
